Abstract |
The concept of molecular hybridization has generated a lot of interest in the field of drug design over the past few decades. The hybrid approach is a novel and efficient synthetic tool for combining two or more distinct entities into a single molecule with novel biological properties. The resulting scaffolds could increase activity and binding affinity while overcoming drug resistance [1]. In this regard, bis-heterocycles are hybrid molecules made up of two linked heterocyclic skeletons. Because they have more potential applications than discrete units, these compounds have recently attracted the attention of scientific communities. Synthesis of (functional) compounds of type I as precursors for the target bis(heterocyclic) compounds II (Scheme 1).Investigation of their synthetic utility as building blocks for the synthesis of novel heterocycles under conventional heating as well as under microwave irradiation. 3) Elucidation of the structure of the new compounds by chemical methods and spectral analyses. 4) Study of the biological activities of the novel compounds. |
