Abstract
The main aim of the study is to determine the reservoir quality of the Miocene rocks in the Western Nile Delta area using different cross plots, These cross plots are utilised to evaluate the characterization of the reservoir. Abu Madi Formation is the main target and the most common reservoir in the Nile Delta of Egypt, The cross plots used are the Neutron_Denisty, Pickett's plot and Thomas_stiber model.
In this study, Abu Madi formation is divided into three informal members: Upper, Middle, and Lower Abu Madi. The area studied in which the parameters area examined in the Western Nile Delta is the Abu Qir area. The study was done, using three wells (WAQ 1x, AQ13x and AQ 1x). the cross plots indicated that, the porosity of Abu Madi Formation is good porosity and the type of shale encountered is the structural and dispersed, not laminated shale which causes some problems. The main lithology of Abu Madi formation is sandstone interbedded with shale and some lamina of limestone.
